Sacred Sunday

We had the best lesson in Relief Society today - it was Ward Conference so one of the member's of the Stake Relief Society Presidency spoke....it was awesome! The message that I came away with was managing our priorities and dealing with the demands of life. Essentially there are only TWO priorities in life....understanding and developing your relationship with God and Jesus Christ, and understanding and developing your relationship with your family. All else falls into place once you realize these principles and put these two priorities first in your life. I was so uplifted and inspired by this message. We also sang this song as our closing hymn. We sing it quite a lot in church, but the words are awesome and I wanted to share it with you.

As Sisters in Zion

As sisters in Zion, we’ll all work together;
The blessings of God on our labors we’ll seek.
We’ll build up his kingdom with earnest endeavor;
We’ll comfort the weary and strengthen the weak.

The errand of angels is given to women;
And this is a gift that, as sisters, we claim:
To do whatsoever is gentle and human,
To cheer and to bless in humanity’s name.

How vast is our purpose, how broad is our mission,
If we but fulfill it in spirit and deed.
Oh, naught but the Spirit’s divinest tuition
Can give us the wisdom to truly succeed.

Very inspiring! I love it when something "clicks"... like getting a good fill-up (and topping off) of mojo goodness.

I read a neat article in the paper the other day that made me think of you. It was about an LDS canning kitchen/operation in Kent, WA. Very inspiring, about how they not only did this to better their LDS community, but also to everyone in the area in need. Showed how one can take care of one's self, but still give to others. I'll clip it and send it to you.
