Ruh-Roh (said Scooby Do style)

Sweet little Maxwell went to the vet yesterday for his shots and ended up with an allergic reaction! His poor little puppy face looked like this....

Instead of this.....

Sweet baby Maxwell

After a quick visit to the emergency vet, a couple more shots to counteract the reaction and $126.00 later he was as good as new!

Insomniac

So ever since Mr. Fu and Maxwell came along I haven't been able to take my sleeping pills....two still potty training puppies + sleeping in my bed = about 4 potty runs during the night. My pills knock me out for a straight eight hours so none of those for at least a few more months....that means I've had quite a few late nights lately. Tonight I'm entertaining myself by perusing Cute Overload which is all fine and dandy except I think I gave myself a hernia holding in my laughter!!! These are a few of my favorites....

[Who needs another BOOOORING photo of penguins? Look over here!]

Kitty Wigs!!!

It was difficult, but Biff tried to maintain some semblance of macho during his birthday celebration. And in all honesty, he was just glad he didn’t have to wear the matching pink boa and the rhinestone-bedazzled booties.

My Love

On this day in 1973, Paul McCartney and Wings released "My Love"....a beautiful love song that Paul wrote for Linda....and the namesake of my little blog:) I love this song so much. Sure, video technology in 1973 was pretty lacking and they all seem to be higher than a kite...but still! What's not to love about that sweet little chubby faced Paul and his funny haircut???

Puppy Pics

Puppy Pics

The boys and their favorite toys. Unfortunately the basket is not doing too well....they chewed the crap out of it one day while we were at work. I need to remove the handles and then it will be fine. Look closely and you can see a chunk of the basket hanging off of Mr. Fu's lips. Caught red handed!!!! Those little stinkers acting so cute and innocent:)

Sunday Sermon

Our Relief Society lesson today was on the Creation and we were asked three key questions to think about and discuss -

Why did we need to come to the earth?
What are the purposes of the Creation?
How do God’s creations show that He loves us?

Such simple questions but so essential to our lives here on earth and our salvation. We sang For the Beauty of the Earth for the closing song - one of my absolute favorites.

For the Beauty of the Earth

For the beauty of the earth,
For the beauty of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies,
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise.

For the beauty of each hour
Of the day and of the night,
Hill and vale, and tree and flow’r,
Sun and moon, and stars of light,
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise.

For the joy of human love,
Brother, sister, parent, child,
Friends on earth, and friends above,
For all gentle thoughts and mild,
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise.

Can you believe this photo is of an actual Albuquerque sunset? Absolutely breathtaking.

Spring Fever

I have serious Spring Fever and that includes being at one of those points where I was to pretty much throw out everything in my house and start fresh...but that's completely realistic so I'm settling for a super duper spring cleaning and some refreshing of little accessories that won't break the bank.

I started with the master bathroom....these are the before pictures. Some sad sorry lonely ocean front and boat pictures which I really liked when I bought then TEN flipping years ago.

And here's the after....I spent a total of $30 to replace those pictures with some fun new accessories that go beautifully with the patriotic vibe I already had going in the bathroom.

Next I need to work on cleaning out the shelves and under the sinks....it's amazing how much bathroom crap I have. Seriously I hang onto lotions and perfumes that I hate just cause I hate to waste anything. But I guess that's a waste of good space, huh.....I could fill up all that empty space with things I LOVE instead of things I hate:)

So what do you think? Aren't the new goodies about a thousand times better?

Happy St. Patrick's Day

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

And may the luck of the Irish always be with you on this St. Patrick's Day!!!

Vintage Sheet Swap

I recently participated in Rosey Little Things vintage sheet swap...look at all the darling sheet fat quarters I received! So darling and all so lovely and soft. Love love love them. I can't wait to make a fun patchwork quilt for the front room out of all this vintage goodness. And I have some fun new blogs to visit too of the other participants.

A Tiskit A Tasket

Mr. Fu's in a Basket....this has become one of his favorite little spots to lounge about it - his little body fits perfectly in this little basket. So stinkin cute I could almost die! It normally houses the dog toys and he likes to find the perfect toy (today it's his squeaky foot) and then climb up in the basket with it.

Yummy Meatloaf

Hmm....it's hard to take an appetizing picture of meatloaf. But trust me - this meatloaf is DELICIOUS!!! I mean seriously how could it not be delicious when it has a whole block of cheese baked in the middle of it?

Serves 4-5

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
3/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1 small diced onion
1 small diced green pepper
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon wine vinegar
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon oregano
2 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
8 ounce chunk cheddar cheese
1 cup chili sauce

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Mix together everything except the chili sauce and cheddar cheese. Spray a baking pan with non stick spray and spread out meat mixture into a loaf. Spread the meat mixture in half (the long side) and place the chunk of cheddar cheese in the middle. Close up the meatloaf making sure that there are no seams for the cheese to ooze out. Pour the chili sauce over the meatloaf. Bake for 1 hour.

Let rest 10 minutes prior to cutting.

Are We Crazy?

Why yes. Yes we are. Puppy fever has enveloped our whole being and we now have a new little playmate for Mr. Fu.....Maxwell the French bulldog! He is such a darling little puppy and a totally different personality that Mr. Fu. Mr. Fu is sweet and quiet and gentle. Maxwell is snarfly and stocky and a little brute! He reminds me so much of when the pugs were babies. These two are still getting used to each other but we hope that they become best buds.

That's my Girl

Miss S and I were talking about recycling the other night and she asked why I am so into recycling. I told her it's cause it's good for the earth and it's good for us not to waste resources the Heavenly Father has given us. She responded with (and this is a direct quote) "Recycling is good for Jesus cause then he has less global warming to worry about". So there you have it. Right from the mouth of a 9 year old - RECYCLE CAUSE IT'S GOOD FOR JESUS!

Hard Day's Night

Had a long hard day at work today. I was grateful to come home to this darling puppy....

this handsome man....

and this budding musician....

It makes the hard days bearable remembering that I have these three blessings waiting for me at home.
