My Brother in Law Rocks

My one and only brother in law, Rick, is one of the coolest men I know. He is an awesome dad to his 7 kids and an awesome husband to my sister, Ryalin. Aren't they SO cute together:):)

When I firmed up plans to go to Vegas for Thanksgiving there was one thing I HAD to do...visit Quiltique! I've been dying to see some Amy Butler, Denyse Schmidt and Heather Bailey fabric in real life and I was not disappointed. Rick graciously drove me there and waited in the car with the 6 kids we had with us while I shopped like a madwoman for 20 minutes. He deserves a gold medal for that:)

Next to the Heather Bailey display.

And my purchases - two yards of Amy Butler fabric (I think I'm going to make myself a skirt with it) and assorted fat quarters from Heather Bailey and Denyse Schmidt and a few other fat quarters I fell in love with. I wanted to buy every single one of Amy's patterns and I couldn't decide on just one so I didn't buy any. Any good recommendations on the perfect one to get? I have her In Stitches book and I love it.

Awww---what a good BIL you have, he is a saint to stay in the car with the kiddos while you shop to you drop! They do make a great couple :)

I wish I could tell ya which pattern to buy, but I'm not much of a sewer, although I do LOVE all of the designers you mentioned fabric lines. They are yummy!

That's brotherly love!
You look like a happy kid in a candy shop...looks like you did well for your 20 minute shopping spree!

To be perfectly honest, I WAS getting pretty anxious while waiting. But, I am most certain that we were all better off with me staying in the car with the kids as opposed to ALL of us going into the shop.

How could you do it in only 20 minutes! ACK!! I bet it was kinda fun though. It wouldn't have been so hard to decide on which fabrics to buy. Looks like you did a great job though.

All the best for you in the coming year!
