Thrifty Tuesday
I love Jonathan Adler designs....just wish it was a little more in my price range. I was so excited to find this darling pillow at Goodwill for only $2.99!! I can't find what it retailed at but most Jonathan Adler pillows are at least $98!! It will look so nice on our bed.

I Made It Monday
I've been participating in the Flickr QBE Exchange group for almost a year now - I finally finished my first quilt top with blocks that I received and holy cow I love this quilt so much! It's for Miss S's room to match her new Twilight themed room -
My friend took it to Idaho with her to quilt on her mother in law's long arm quilting machine. I can't wait to get it back!!! The blocks are all so gorgeous and so different and all the beautiful shades of red work so well together.

Sacred Sunday
WOW!! Church really knocked my socks off today. I spoke in Sacrament Meeting on missionary work and was on a total spiritual high cause of that and it just got better and better. Sunday School's lesson was on David and Saul from the Old Testament and Relief Society's lesson was on The Life of Jesus Christ. Such good lessons! Seriously there was not a dry eye in Relief Society.
In Sacrament meeting Miss S leaned over to me and said "That's where I want to get married" while looking at a beautiful picture of the Salt Lake City Temple.
My favorite scripture from today:
John 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Ho Hum
The puppies are at the vet today getting snip snipped. Miss S is watching TV. Hubby is playing WOW. I'm bored and have no motivation to do anything but go take a nap. Yep it's 9:56 am I'm ready to take a nap. Probably cause I stayed up til after midnight watching Dexter and had to be up early to take the boys to the vet by 7. I have tons I should be doing. My sis and the kiddos are coming for a visit next week and I want the house to be semi decent. I think I'll go take that nap I'm longing for and then kick my butt in to high gear. OH and guess what? I'm almost finished with a quilt top that I can't wait to show off!

Thrifty Thursday
Ok - I'm totally hating this once a week posting thing I've been doing the last few weeks....but seriously - has anyone else's life just gotten warp speed faster? I can't believe we are almost a month into summer break for Miss S!! I barely have time to do laundry - much less post all the wonderful ideas I have swimming around in my brain.
I'm seriously toying with having a "themed" daily post - like Sacred Sunday, Mediocre Monday, Thrifty Tuesday....you get the idea:) Would that be fun or lame??? Comments please:) I think it would help me focus more and be able to collect my thoughts easier.
I'm making today Thrifty Thursday cause I was finally able to take pics of some of my best thrifty finds. I scored these piles of goodness at Salvation Army - I totally lucked out and the ladies were just putting all this out when I walked in the door....my total price for all of this was $10 - nice:)
Absolute yummy vintage sewing goodness.

Blogaversary!!!
SO.....yesterday was my FOURTH blogaversary!!! Holy cow. I can't believe it's been four years already. Blogging has literally changed my life and brought so many wonderful people in to my life. I want to do some giveways to celebrate but I have absolutely nothing prepared yet:) Look for some upcoming giveways soon:)
Miss S is invited to not one but two birthday parties today.....I whipped up these darling gifts for each birthday girl and birthday boy...
But first - this hilarious shot of Max trying to sneak into my photo.....hey momma, hey momma, hey momma, look at me, look at me, look at me!!!!!
I embellished a tote bag and pencil bag for each child and filled the pencil bag with pencils and the tote bag with books:) Best of all every.single.thing came from my stash. I bought the tote bags who knows how many years ago, got the pencil bags for .48 on clearance from Target a few years back, grabbed two boxes of pencils from my school supply stash, and picked out three books for each child from my box of books from the last Scholastic warehouse sale. And I ended up with a couple of darling, personalized gifts. And seriously, these tote bags cost as much as paper gift bags AND they can use them forever and ever:)

Chicken Cacciatore
I am a HUGE fan of freezer cooking....with working full time, all of Miss S's activities and Hubby's schedule it can be SO daunting trying to decide what to have for dinner every night and actually finding the time to cook. We end up eating too much junk and fast food cause by the time I get home from work I am pooped. I've done freezer cooking on and off for several years but have decided that it's time to get serious about it again. Over the weekend I made 4 different recipes and froze 12 dinners. Not too shabby for about $30 of ingredients and a couple hours of my time.
I thought I'd share some of my favorite freezer cooking recipes. This is a great website that can give you the basics about freezer cooking but I really recommend finding the recipes that your family loves to eat and just making huge batches of them. This recipe for Chicken Cacciatore makes 15 servings, so I freeze it in four containers and have four dinners and a little bit of left overs for lunch the next day.
We had this for dinner last night and it was delicious!
3 cups chicken, cooked and cubed
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 medium onions, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 1/2 cups mushrooms, slices
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 15-oz jars of spaghetti sauce
1 can Italian style stewed tomatoes
In a large skillet or stock pot, saute the onion, green pepper, mushrooms, and garlic in olive oil until onion is soft. Stir in chicken, spaghetti sauce and stewed tomatoes. Simmer for 15 minutes. Allow to cool. Package in freezer bags or plastic containers. Label and freezer.
To serve:
Thaw. Pour into medium saucepan. Simmer until heated through. Serve over wide egg noodles, spaghetti or rice. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired.

Summer TV
I am completely caught up on:
CSI
CSI: NY
CSI: Miami
NCIS
NCIS: LA
How I Met Your Mother... and I have 3 episodes of Glee to watch and then I'll be caught up on that show too. I LOVE the season finales and their awesome cliffhangers.
But with summer comes the end of my favorite shows and allows us to watch some new favorites like American Pickers:
This show is AWESOME!!!! Hubby is even more excited about the new season than I am (and I'm pretty darn excited about it:)
I've also recently become addicted to this man:
I'm halfway through Season 1 on NetFlix and can't wait to watch more!
What other good shows should I watch this summer?

Summer Reads
I like to fill my summer with quick, easy to read books, perfect for traveling and perfect for relaxing in the evenings. These are the two I just finished and I would highly recommend them both. They are in completely different spectrums - one's a dark crime book, and one's a feel good tale about friends and family - I'll let you guess which one is which:):):)
Up next are these two:
I'll let you know how they are:) What are you reading this summer?

Roar and Snore
Miss S and I spent the night last night at the Albuquerque Zoo with her Brownie troop for the annual Roar and Snore. It was so much fun!!! Only three girls from our troop were unable to attend. I'm completely exhausted today though and have already taken two naps and drunk probably a gallon of ice water. We've had record temperatures in town the last few days with temps at 100 and above. Here's a few fun pics of our fun sleepover:
It was really fun being in the park with no one else other than 1000 other girl scouts:) The girls had special books to fill out about the animals they saw, earned a cool patch, made crafts, talked to the docents, and got to walk around the exhibits until about 9:30 last night. Just look at the sea of tents in one of the above pics!!!

Durango!!!!
We took off for the long weekend to Durango....oh my goodness we had a great time!!! We took our friend Frank with us and the puppies also tagged along for their very first road trip. We stayed at the KOA again...our kabin was just perfect as usual:)
Wake up sleepy head!! She snuck in to my bed every morning after Hubby went to take a shower.
Mr. Fu and Max LOVED camping!!! They enjoyed playing at the dog park and visiting every single person that walked by during the whole weekend:)
The old post office in downtown Durango.
Down at the Animas River.
Sweet Frank, who has a serious addiction to texting...he told us he's used 25,000 texts this month! Holy crap!!
Sunday Miss S, Frank and I drove to Four Corners and to Mesa Verde. We were really bummed that the monument at Four Corners was closed but it was still really fun to see.....and Mesa Verde was amazing! We had no idea that you needed several days to cover the park so we only made it about 20 miles in to the Visitor's Center. What we did see was awesome though:)
At Mesa Verde getting her Junior Ranger badge.
Some views from Mesa Verde. Absolutely breathtaking. I wish we had more time to explore the park more - maybe next time.
