Hymns of the Heart

I'm feeling a lot bah-humbuggy this year. In a funk, a little overwhelmed, crabby and in general a big old sour puss. Today was our Christmas program at church and I'm grateful that I felt a little tiny smidgen of Christmas spirit. So let's run with it....I'm going to make myself get in the Christmas spirit by sharing some of my favorite Christmas songs over the next week...

For today it' JOY TO THE WORLD....A beautiful moving hymn, best sung with as much feeling as you can muster -

Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the world, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more will sin and sorrow grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He'll come and make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love
