Growing
Moki asked "how does your garden grow" and here is my tiny little garden for this year. Three darling little zucchini plants. I took this picture last week and already these guys are twice this size. The New Mexico late summer monsoon season has started early and these boys are soaking up the natural rainfall. I can't wait till they blossom and start growing zucchinis. Yum yum yum.
Meanwhile another garden is growing in my kitchen.....I received three absolutely breathtaking floral arrangements for my birthday. Isn't that awesome that they are all the same colors?? Sent from loved ones in Nevada and Washington and each perfectly my style:) Thank you to Susan, Tammy and Dad and Jan.

Oh Yeah I'm Spoiled
My heart is absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude to all my wonderful friends who have sent me birthday wishes and helped make today absolutely wonderful!!! I was spoiled with being taken out to lunch by a friend and treated to a movie by another sweet friend. Throw in a couple of great presents and then I topped off my day with a free birthday burger from Red Robin....oh yeah, I'm spoiled and I am stuffed!
I dug out an old photo album and thought it would be fun to share some past birthday pictures with you (thanks to Jane for the inspiration - and happy birthday to Jane too today:))
On my 3rd birthday - I still wake up with that same bed head to this day:)
On my 4th birthday - sporting an awesome outfit crocheted by my Great Grandma.
And another one for good measure of my dad sporting a HUGE afro!! circa May 1971 - about 2 months before my parents were married. I totally love that hair.
And Winners - we have WINNERS of my notebooks for my birthday and my blogaversary. The random number generator kicked out #6, 12, 1 and 5 so congratulations to Affectionknit, Elaine, Jane and rohan knitter!!!
Ladies - please email me with your address at raeshadrz at yahoo dot com (Elaine - I already have yours and Karen I know I have your somewhere but please send it again:)

Gieaways!!
I am currently obsessed with making these notebooks from old albums....I think I've made about 20 so far and I have 20 more albums at least waiting to be cut up. They are 8 1/2 by 11 and filled with about 100 sheets of plain paper. I wanted to fill them with recycled paper but all my recycled paper is from the law office so I guess with lawyer/client confidentiatily and all that, that probably wouldn't be so cool:) So these ones are filled with blank paper:) I'm giving FOUR of them away in honor of my blogaversary and my upcoming 37th birthday on June 19.....
We have two featuring the beautiful Barbra Streisand, a hunkalicious Neil Diamond, and my favorite folk group Peter, Paul and Mary. So leave a comment to be entered in the drawing and I'll randomly choose four winners on the eve of my birthday on June 18th. Which also happens to be Paul McCartney's birthday so maybe I should call this "The In Honor of Paul" giveaway. And I guess I should spell "Honor" as "Honour" in the grand English tradition.
Good luck!!!

I Did It!
I had a real "do nothing" day....well, I did lots of stuff but I had NO commitments at all today, I slept in, I'm still in my pajamas and only left the house to check the mail.
I finished reading this:
Finally watched this with Miss S:
Did a bazillion loads of laundry, scrubbed the stove, cleaned off my desk a little bit and worked on several little projects that I have been neglecting. I wish every Saturday could be like this. Now I'm off to take a quick shower (yes, at 10 pm) so I can change into clean jammies and lay on the couch and watch tv with Miss S.

Feelin' Alright!!!
MMMM I love me some Joe Cocker....he is so cool!!!
Seems I got to have a change of scene
Cause every night I have the strangest dreams
Imprisoned by the way it used to be
Left here on my own or so it seems
I got to leave before I start to scream
But someone's locked the door and took the key
Feelin' alright
Not feelin' too good myself
Feelin' alright
Not feelin' too good myself
Boy you sure took me for one big ride
Even now I sit and wonder why
And when I think of you I start to cry
Got to stop belivin' in all your lies
Cause I got to much to do before I die
Before someone comes along and takes my place
With a different name and yes a different face
Seems I got to have a change of scene
Cause every night I have the strangest dreams
Imprisoned by the way it used to be
Left here on my own or so it seems
I got to leave before I start to scream
But someone's locked the door and took the key

Feeling Crafty
A friend asked today what I've been crafting lately and the answer was "a whole lot of nothing". But I've got a month of birthdays and various celebrations ahead so I better get busy. I did just that this afternoon and made a wedding present for a reception I went to tonight:
I was inspired by THIS tutorial. Simple and quick, but a beautiful keepsake to hang in this sweet couple's first home together. Next up are some really quick and easy charm necklaces. Like really quick, like I bought some awesome big charms, and seed bead necklaces, I'll attach them with a jump ring and VOILA they will be done:) Good thing cause one is for a birthday that is today and should have been mailed to Washington already:) Good thing my friend Susan and I have been friend's since we were 3 years old....we know each other so well that as long as our birthday gifts to each other arrive in the month of June sometime that's as good as it gets:)
