My Monday

Guess what I did today? I presented at a paralegal seminar!! It really was quite fun.


These pictures are horrible...but you get the picture:) I presented on discovery for an hour and a half and assisting with trial for an hour. I love to hear myself talk:) It was a fun day and nice to be out of the office all day too. We're closed on Friday so that means I have a lovely three day work week - YOO HOO!!!!

Trying to Catch Up

My bloglines is on crack...it's marking every post every written by almost everyone in my bloglines as new....I'm up to 5400 unread posts!!! My poor little computer is about to blow up with the stress of it all!!

Anyhoo....I'm trying really hard not to be MIA, but I've let my life get exponentially more busy than I can manage and there's not end in sight for a couple more weeks. I have giveaway winners to announce, packages to send, swaps to brag about, birthday gifts to post about, thank you notes to finish, and my birthday grand prize and my blogaversary grand prize to post. Holy moley I don't even know where to start.

So instead of working on my to do list I took a break and went on a little field trip yesterday with Moki to the new Pro's Ranch Market in the South Valley of Albuquerque. OH. MY. GOSH!!! We had so much fun. It was seriously like we were in Mexico. Mariachi music was blaring, I heard more Spanish than English, and found lots of good foods to try. Hubby requested Mexican sweet bread so I came home with 8 different sweet breads and a little bag of empanadas, fresh produce out the yazoo...and all sorts of other yummy goodies. I think I will be making a monthly trek to this awesome market. Thanks for coming with me Moki!!!

I Want to Believe

I seriously peed my pants a little when I saw on my brother's blog that he just watched the preview for the new X-Files movie. Then I peed my pants even more when I watched the preview. Then I completely lost all control when I realized the movie premieres in just about a month!!! Oh man, I will be in Mulder heaven. He is hands down, my all time favorite secret boyfriend.

IT's my brithday......

and I'll do what I want to:):) So that means a couple more days to announce the winners of some giveaways and to put together my birthday grand prize:) But I will post a giveaway today so keep reading:)

This week has KICKED my butt!! I had dance class Monday (I haven't told you about that yet:)), dance class for Miss Tuesday, Scouts last night, cleaning house tonight, and a little birthday get together tomorrow night. After I threw in all my weekly errands I am completely wiped out! Hubby has two summer classes everyday in June so he doesn't get home until about 7:15 so I've been trying to do everything around the house so he doesn't get stressed out too much. But only two more weeks of that and then he has almost 2 months until fall semester starts.

My birthday has been wonderful so far and I'm anxious to show you some of my goodies:):)

Today's giveaway is these lovely 4 packs of stickers. I've been a sticker fiend since I was a child and had my first Lisa Frank sticker binder. The mall in Tacoma had a Lisa Frank store and my treat everytime we went was to get a grab bag of stickers. Oh how I loved those sparkly unicorn stickers!!!! I still can't pass up a good pack of stickers.

Birthday Giveaway #5

Father's Day

What do these pictures have to do with Father's Day?? I told my husband that my gift to him this year was a clean office:) The top picture shows my cleaned off desk and the bottom photo shows everything that I put away from my desk and that was piled up on the floor in the office. By the end of Saturday everything was almost completely put away. Yes, there still is a ton of crap on my desk, but it is a massive improvement. I can usually keep it clean for about a month, then it all goes downhill again.

I have tons of photos to share of awesome swaps I have received the last couple weeks. I'll be featuring them all throughout this week.

Randomness

The beautiful and talented Paula tagged me WEEKS ago....I'm adding a little twist to it though:)

List 7 random things about myself...since it's my birthday month I thought I'd list 7 random things about my birthday and birthday memories.

Here we go:

1. My birthday is June 19th which sometimes falls on Father's Day. My husband's birthday is May 10th which sometimes falls on Mother's Day. Weird!

2. Paul McCartney's birthday is June 18th...how I would LOVE to celebrate our birthday's together. I'll even let him eat the biggest slice of cake.

3. For my 13th birthday my friend Lisa bought me Madonna's Like a Virgin on cassette. I still love Madonna. Several years later I accidently broke my friend Lisa's arm when we were goofing around. I was rocking really hard in our rocking chair and rocked over her arm. Ouch! She forgave me and we're still friends. I'm pretty sure I still have that cassette somewhere.

4. My sister's birthday is June 23 and my brother's birthday is June 29. That means September was a good baby making month for my parents. My parents conceived me a mere 8 or 9 weeks after they got married.

5. I really want the book Photo Freedom by Stacy Julian for my birthday. (that's a big hint for my mom, or more Pandora charms too:))

6. I remember eating ice cream cups at my 5th or 6th birthday....the little orange and vanilla ones with the flat wooden spoon. That flavor combination of ice cream is now one of my least favorites.

7. I don't remember the last time I had a real birthday party, but I'm thinking about doing one this year for my 36th birthday. I better get my butt in gear and decide!

I went and missed my blogaversary!! June 11 was My Love's humble two year anniversary...and it sure was humble seeing as how I totally forgot about it!! I have a fun giveaway in the works for my blogaversary but I'm going to wait to post it until after my birthday giveaways are done.

Fabulous Friday

I've had an absolutely wonderful day today....it was so nice being off work today! Miss S and I slept a little late, then she convinved me to let her stay home from her summer program since I was home. We cleaned, played and had fun hanging out together at home. When hubby got home from work we went for a late lunch at Red Robin, then I took an almost 2 hour nap when we got home. I have brownies in the oven and I think we're going to watch Spiderman 3 in just a little bit.

I finally got my car all cleaned out and wanted to show off these adorable vintage cloth napkins I bought several weeks ago that were hiding in a bag in the car - a set of 8 for $3.99...they are all washed and already put away in the kitchen.


Tomorrow I'll be tackling the office and my desk...that will literally take all day.

I've had a fabulous weekend - lots of fun family time, and not a lot of chores that got done. Last night I went and saw Sex and the City with a good friend, and today we saw Indiana Jones IV and had dinner with my brothers, Shay and Chad, and Shay's family. A lovely end to a lovely weekend.

Celebrations

Remember yesterday I hinted at fun stuff to be announced today?? Well, here it is. In celebration of my upcoming birthday on June 19 I'm going to have several giveaways for the WHOLE month!!! Today's giveaway is 10 of these awesome vintage bingo cards. I've been wanting some for so long and in the last couple weeks I've found THREE vintage bingo games!! The denim skirt is Calvin Klein and I've had it for several years. I think I paid no more than $3 for it. The shirt I just bought yesterday and it's an Evan Piccone that I scored for $3 - just a nice cute summer outfit.

Cheeseburgers in Paradise

So....did you know that I belong to the Parrotheads of New Mexico? That's the Jimmy Buffet fan club:) Yes, I'm a dork and a nerd and I love it:) Our club attended tonight, with about 1000 other people, a Jimmy Buffet tribute concert featuring the three guys above. It was SO much fun!! I can hardly talk and my ears are still ringing. Exactly how a good concert should leave you:) It was great to unwind for a few hours, visit with some old friends and make some new friends.
Hubby just told me my typing is too loud so I'll tell you more about it tomorrow night when he'll be gone at a movie with friends:) OHH and be extra sure to check back tomorrow cause I have something FUN to announce:)
