Our New Baby

Let's give a warm welcome to our new little angel - he's a Pomeranian/Shih Tzu mix. He was born November 16, 2009 and we just picked him up today. We've named him Mr. Fu Manchu due to his little brown mustache. Mr. Fu for short:) We are already completely smitten and in love with this little guy.

Our New Baby

When he's listening to you his little ears stand up and he looks like a little Gremlin:)

Yuki and Bree seem like they could care less that there is a new little baby in the house. Lots of sniffing of each other, and Mr. Fu walked right up into both Yuki's and Bree's bowls when they were eating dinner and all were totally fine:) Bree and Yuki are both on the downhill slide and we are taking them to the vet tomorrow to see if it's time to have to put them to sleep or if there is anything we can do to make them more comfortable.

Leo Love

I have always adored Leonardo Dicaprio.....starting when I first saw him in What's Eating Gilbert Grape:) I especially loved him in The Departed. I fell in love with him just a little bit more when I read that he donated one million dollars to help Haiti.

Don't have a million dollars?? Me neither:) But I did do a little shopping here...

Where the heck....

did the last week go??? I can't believe tomorrow is Friday already.

Miss S and I took off for the holiday weekend and drove to Colorado Springs to visit my brother and his family. Poor Hubby had to stay home and was pretty bummed about that....

Our trip was AWESOME~~~except for the $250.00 speeding ticket I got on the way up there and the dead as a door nail car battery on the way home, which required three jump starts just to get home to Albuquerque, and a $75.00 new battery Tuesday morning. BUT all those hours between the ticket and the battery were SO MUCH FUN!!! Holy cripes we loved it.

Miss S made us a special dessert (monkey bread) on Saturday night....that's her and her crazy cousin Raden....

My gorgeous sis in law Tracy with Miss S...

Me, Miss S and Soldier boy Ian - he deploys for Afghanistan really soon:(

River, Raden and Miss S....River and Raden are so sweet and darling and fun and I totally miss them already!

Saturday I finally got to meet my dear friend Elaine in person!!!! Oh my goodness I love her even more after spending Saturday afternoon with her. We met for lunch at Red Robin - I brought Ian, Tracy and the kids and Elaine brought her grandson. The kids totally hit it off right away....

After lunch Uncle Ian took our kiddos home and Elaine, Tracy and I went to Goodwill and Archivers together - so much fun! The Goodwill we went to rocked and I totally wish we had an Archivers in Albuquerque. What a cool store. I promised to give Tracy and Elaine each other's contact information so they can get together again.

Pile on Uncle Ian time....

Garden of the Gods - SO cool!! I can't wait to spend more time there on our next trip.

I Love Scarves

I totally love scarves and during the winter I love to wear a different scarf each day that matchy matches my outfit:) I whipped up this little goodie a couple of weekends ago using a pink and an aqua sweater that I felted. Just cut up a bunch of different sized rectangles and zig zagged them together. Easy peasy and SO warm as the sweaters were 100% wool!!!

Sweet Goodness Swaps

I love participating in the Sweet Goodness Swaps. The themes are always so much fun and the packages are amazing! I'm totally late posting about the most recent swap I participated in. Sparking Winter White was the theme and my partner was awesome Emily and she spoiled me rotten!
Just look at all these goodies....

I love everything! And like a completely bad swapper I failed to take any pictures of the package I sent her:( I had a lot of fun putting her package all together though. I even found something else I got for her that I forgot about so she's getting another little surprise in the mail this week:)

I can't wait to see what the next theme is for Sweet Goodness Swaps!

I Feel Pretty

I Feel Pretty

All bundled up and heading to work this morning, I caught a glimpse of myself in Miss S's bathroom and actually thought to myself "wow-I look pretty"....not in a vain, I'm hot stuff, kind of a way, but in a sweet, inspirational, kind of a way....a way that helped me have a good day today....a way that made me remember that I am a beautiful child of God....a way that brought a little smile to my face randomly throughout the day thinking about taking pictures of myself in the bathroom at 7:15 this morning:)

Crafting in the New Year

In line with cleansing my finances, I've committed to making most of gifts this year and for once and for all cleaning out my gift stash.

I have a baby shower this week for a co-worker and I've filled a big gift bag with baby wipes, a darling baby outfit and a little crafted picture for the baby. The outfit, and wipes came from my stash and I spent a whopping $1 at Dollar Tree to make the picture.

I found these darling bead board inspired frames at Dollar Tree, dug out some fun patterned paper and made a little wall hanging for this sweet little baby who's name starts with "A". I printed the "A" in Word in a font and a size that I liked, then used that as a template to cut out my patterned paper. Cheap, quick and easy, and darling.

Cleansing

I absolutely love Ali Edwards One Little Word concept for goal setting. This year I've chosen "cleanse" as my word. It perfectly embodies everything I want for myself for this year.

I want to cleanse:
My home
My relationships
My schedule
My spirit
My body
My finances

OLW for 2010

I've spent the last three days working on cleansing my home...I have a LONG way to go but these little bits and pieces that I've started on make me extremely happy (and Hubby is happy too which is always a good thing).

Today I tackled my overflowing shoe pile. Seriously I'm a freak about shoes. I love love love them. However, I haven't cleaned out my shoes in about 9 years - I just keep buying new ones but never get rid of old ones. 75% of these shoes don't even fit me anymore since my feet grew a whole size when I was pregnant with Miss S. It was a bitch getting into the closet in the mornings with this big old mess staring straight at me every day....

Before

But now it looks like this and this makes me extremely happy!! Nice, neat and organized, and filled with only the shoes that I love and that fit me.

After

And this is the pile that is going to Goodwill....
